L'été, partez à la rencontre des alpagistes
Cet itinéraire coconstruit avec la Société d’économie alpestre de Savoie et le Syndicat de défense du beaufort vous invite à découvrir la vie d’un alpagiste et d’un troupeau pendant la saison estivale : assister à la traite ou à la fabrication du fromage, goûter la production sur place, sont autant de façons de comprendre l’agropastoralisme, tout en contemplant les sommets. L’hiver, les vaches tarines ou Abondance sont dans la vallée, et ce sont dans les fermes que vous retrouverez les agriculteurs et à la coopérative que vous pourrez apprécier la fabrication du fromage.
De l'alpage à la vallée, l'art de vivre en montagne est une constante adaptation à la géographie et au climat, à découvrir été comme hiver en rencontrant les agriculteurs.
Des balades à pied ou en raquettes, des goûters à la ferme, des flambées accompagnées de fromage ou de gâteaux, des villages qui s’animent à l’heure de la traite vous convaincront que la tradition est ici bien vivante ; et comme elle a donné à ce terroir des recettes propres à revigorer le plus gourmand des randonneurs, il n’y a vraiment aucune raison de s’en priver !
Au fil des siècles, les Savoyards ont su créer une civilisation particulièrement adaptée à l’espace montagnard. Formes et matériaux variés façonnent le bâti des Hautes vallées de Savoie. Les paysages habités retracent plus d’un siècle d’une histoire aussi riche qu’étonnante à redécouvrir dans l’âme des villages et à vivre en rencontrant les éleveurs en alpage. Depuis les vignes des premières pentes jusqu’aux vergers de montagne et aux alpages d’altitude, l’agriculture est aussi variée que les fromages qui apportent les bienfaits des cimes dans votre assiette !
Un patrimoine rural en pleine activité
L’esprit d’entreprise des montagnards s’exprime aussi dans les techniques de construction : les chalets employant, selon les vallées, le bois, la pierre ou la lauze témoignent de la sagesse des paysans d’autrefois, qui ont su tirer le meilleur parti de conditions difficiles. Vous verrez comment les habitants de La Compôte en Bauges mettaient leurs récoltes à l’abri grâce aux tavalans, comment ceux de Montaimont, en Maurienne, utilisaient une charpente séparée des murs pour bâtir leurs maisons joliment appelées « colombines »… Et vous mettrez peut-être la main à la pâte pour vous initier à une technique ancestrale de l’Avant-Pays Savoyard, la construction en pisé.
