IN THE MORNING, go to Aussois with your guide.
On the Esseillon barrier (19th century), you overlook the entire valley. The forts presented to you may well bear the sweet first names of Marie-Christine and Victor-Emmanuel, named after the former sovereigns of Savoy. They are imposing places which
will give you the thrill.
AT NOON, possibility of lunch in the fascinating setting of Fort Marie-Christine.
IN THE AFTERNOON, en route to Valloire: visit the Fort du Télégraphe, a few steps from the pass. At 1,570 m altitude, a panorama
exceptional is offered to you above a cliff overlooking Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne. The fort owes its name to the presence of a Chappe telegraph signal tower built there.
at the beginning of the 19th century. Its architecture is spectacularly adapted to the relief.
In Valloire, visit the baroque Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church, a center of sacred art in Maurienne, which has a rich decoration of plasterwork and seven altarpieces.
